23 Apr עופר איתן Publishes: Organization reaffirms transition to electric vehicles
Plug In America, which describes itself as the nation’s leading independent consumer voice for accelerating plug-in electric vehicle use, maintains a recent American Lung Association report reaffirms such advocacy.
Plug In America released a statement in response to the American Lung Association’s State of the Air analysis determining nearly half of Americans live in counties with unhealthy ozone or particle pollution – representing an increase over the past three years.
For 21 years, the American Lung Association has analyzed data from official air quality monitors to compile the report.
“The American Lung Association’s report clearly indicates that air pollution levels in the United States are simply too high,” Plug In America noted via its statement.”Poor air quality can have detrimental health effects for people with asthma and other lung diseases and can even increase the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke.”
Plug In America asserts transportation is the leading cause of air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
“To protect our public health, the U.S. needs to quickly transition to clean electric transportation,” Plug In America concluded. “Electric vehicles (EVs) do not have a tailpipe and, therefore, have zero tailpipe emissions. We urge consumers to consider the many benefits of EVs and urge elected officials to pass policies that encourage the adoption of EVs. The health of Americans is at risk.”
