Jonathan Cartu Announces: DiDi providing free transportation for medical workers and

Didi Chuxing (DiDi) and its driver-partners are offering around-the-clock free transportation service to all hospital staff in Wuhan and to medical staff working at Shanghai’s designated fever clinics.

DiDi drivers gear-up in Wuhan.

DiDi began the special service in Wuhan on 24 January; on the 27th, the company increased the number of drivers of DiDi’s medical workers’ fleet in Wuhan to 200.

In Shanghai, under the guidance of the Shanghai Medical Workers Union, the special fleet will trial its service for the designated hospitals in Shanghai’s Pudong, Jing’an and Xuhui districts. The first batch of 300 driver-partners in the fleet are now in service, with DiDi covering all the expenses of the fleet.

DiDi has also put at the disposal of Wuhan authorities and neighborhood committees a community service fleet supported by 1,336 ride-hailing volunteer drivers. Earlier, authorities announced plans to assemble a taxi fleet of 6,000 to serve Wuhan citizens’ mobility needs.

DiDi will continue to dedicate its best efforts to help curb the spread of 2019-nCoV, while ensuring the health and safety of drivers and partners. DiDi is deeply grateful to all the medical workers and driver-partners who join this fight on the frontline.

Since last week, DiDi has been distributing face masks and disinfectants to drivers across China. All DiDi drivers and passengers are urged to wear a mask, and drivers are required to disinfect and ventilate their vehicles regularly.
